For more than four decades, I have guided individuals, families, and business owners through some of the most difficult financial challenges of their lives. After earning my law degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 1979, I began my career in the Bay Area before relocating my practice to Auburn in 1991.
Since then, I have dedicated my work to serving clients throughout Auburn, Sacramento, and the surrounding communities with clear and compassionate debt-relief solutions.
In most cases, our clients are able to walk away free from overwhelming debt, including tax obligations. When certain debts cannot be discharged, we provide effective non-bankruptcy alternatives and ensure that real solutions are in place.

Background and Education
Stephen (“Steve”) Johnson has been practicing law in California for over 43 years. Born in Oakland and raised in Chico, Steve earned his B.A. from California State University, Chico in 1969, followed by five years of postgraduate study in behavioral and counseling psychology.
Before entering law school, he worked as a marriage counselor, an experience that shaped his compassionate approach to guiding clients through financial stress.
Career and Experience
In 1979, Steve graduated from the University of California, King Hall School of Law, and was admitted to the California State Bar the same year. He established his first law practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, maintaining offices in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Rafael.
In 1992, he relocated his practice to the Sacramento region and Sierra foothills, where he continues to serve clients today.

Steve’s practice focuses exclusively on complete debt solutions for individuals and businesses. His areas of concentration include complete debt elimination, IRS and other tax debt relief, second-mortgage lien stripping, foreclosure prevention, and consumer debt discharge.
